However, Shiva, wishing to avoid them, took the form of a bull (Nandi) and hid in the Garhwal region.
When Bhima tried to catch the bull, it dove into the ground, and different parts of Shiva’s divine body reappeared at five distinct locations, which are now worshipped as the Panch Kedar:
- Kedarnath: The hump of the bull
- Madhyamaheshwar: The navel and stomach
- Tungnath: The arms
- Rudranath: The face (Mukha)
- Kalpeshwar: The hair (Jata)
What Makes Rudranath Temple So Special?
